  Hi C1,

  see screenshot: I first repaired my C1WinForms installation of version .708 and then updated to hotfix .721.
  
  When looking at the “Build Repository” => “Applications and other products” part, the list of currently installed versions is quite irritating:

  It displays rather old versions for products that I don’t have installed (e.g. “.NET 2.0”).
  
  And though I updated the .NET .4.8 apps, it still displays “.611”. The file “C:\Program Files (x86)\MESCIUS\ComponentOne\Apps\v4.8\FlexReportDesigner.4.8.exe” has version .721.

  Here is a screenshot of the main “Install” screen which shows the currently installed version (I clicked “Repair” so that it displays the installed components to the right) :

  Bonus question: the entry “Apps &Tools” has a group “FlexReportDesigner”, but this one only provides a “Download” button. I clicked it last week, and it installed the .NET 4.6.2 version of the designer. This does not match my installation (.NET 4.8 and .NET 8).

  Hi Wolfgang,

  We were able to reproduce the issue where incorrect versions and non-installed frameworks are shown in the Build Repository tab.

  Upon investigation, it appears that the ComponentOneControlPanel is still referencing these versions from the older installation path - C:\Program Files (x86)\ComponentOne - which existed before the Mescius folder was introduced. It seems that this older installation folder might still be present on your system as well, causing this behavior.

  We have reported it to the development team for further investigation and will update you as soon as we receive any updates.

  Regarding the installation of FlexReportDesigner app from Apps and Tools tab, we were not able to reproduce the behavior. On our end, the version 4.8 of FlexReport was installed, as shown in the attached screenshot -

  Yes, I still have the old folder “C:\Program Files (x86)\ComponentOne”, and there is a bunch of old App versions.
  
  I cannot delete it completely, because older branches of our product use an old version of C1WPF, so I have to keep the old folder for some more time.

  About the “Apps and Tools” showing only “Download” buttons for FlexReportDesigner and Theme Designer instead of opening the apps: is there anything I can do to test it?

  Hi Wolfgang,

  Regarding the “Apps and Tools” tab - once we click the Download button and the download completes, the .NET 4.8 version of FlexReportDesigner automatically opens on our end, as shown in the screenshot above. After that, the button changes from Download to Open.

  Are you observing a different behavior when clicking the Download button? Does the download not start?

  If you are experiencing a different behavior than what we described above, could you please share a short video showing the same? This will help us investigate it further on our end.

  I had installed the designer app for .721 and .NET 4.8 already (by updating the app), so I would have expected the “Open” button being visible, but it was still “Download”.
  
  I clicked “Download” again, and it seems it reverted my .721 to .708 (in “C:\Program Files (x86)\MESCIUS\ComponentOne\Apps\v4.8”) - but the “C1ThemeDesigner.4.8.exe” is still .721.

  So the button does not seem to detect the hotfix updates installed through the “Build repository” => “Applications and other products” section.

  Also noticed why playing with this: updating the .NET 4.8 apps by using the “Build repository” => “Applications and other products” section fails to update “FlexReportDesigner.4.8.exe” silently when the designer is open. No error is reported. The installer checks that e.g. the directory is not open in Windows Explorer, but it does not detect an open report designer app.

  New problem: the list in “Build repository” does not refresh properly after an update is installed:

  It is refreshed properly if I uncheck and check again the checkbox “Include prerelease and hotfix versions”.
