To move a Spread.NET license from one machine to another, you will need to follow these steps. These will vary slightly depending on which version the license you want to transfer over is for.
v14 thru v18:
1. On the device where your Spread.NET license is currently activated, locate the GCLM.exe license manager. It may be located in either of the following default locations:
- New default path: “C:\ProgramData\MESCIUS\gclm\gclm.exe”
- Old default path: “C:\ProgramData\GrapeCity\gclm\gclm.exe”
2. Run GCLM.exe – you should see a list of licenses on your machine.
3. To the right of each active license, there should be an option to deactivate the license. Once deactivated, the license can then be used on the machine you wish to transfer it to:
4. On the new machine, ensure that you have installed the version of Spread.NET your license is for first.
Note: You can download the Spread.NET installer from our site, if needed. It will allow you to install previous versions via a dropdown menu in the top-left:
5. Run GCLM.exe on the new machine (see default paths from step 1), then look for the version of Spread.NET you installed. There will be an option to activate a license to the right:
6. Enter the Spread.NET key used on the previous machine to activate it on the new machine. If you don’t have your key on-hand, check your My Licenses page or contact support for assistance.
v13 or older:
1. On the device where your Spread.NET license is currently activated, locate the GrapeCity.LicenseManager.exe license manager. The default installation path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\GrapeCity\Components\GrapeCity.LicenseManager.exe".
2. Run GrapeCity.LicenseManager.exe – you should see a list of licenses on your machine.
3. To the right of each active license, there should be an option to deactivate the license. Once deactivated, the license can then be used on the machine you wish to transfer it to:

Note: For older versions of Spread.NET, if you need access to a particular installer, please contact support.
5. Run GCLM.exe on the new machine (see default paths from step 1), then look for the version of Spread.NET you installed. There will be an option to activate a license to the right:
