How Wijmo License Versioning Works

When you purchase a Wijmo license from Mescius it will be attached to the account you specify on your order. You can view your license in your My Licenses Page. This page is split into two sections, the Developer License section and the Distribution License section.

The Developer License section

This section includes sales information and subscription dates:

The Distribution License section

This section shows your license and information regarding its distribution:

Every license includes one year of support which includes two major updates with minor updates between them. These major updates are typically six months apart.

  • The license year for 2022 looks like this: 2022v1, 2022v2.
  • Buying a license mid-year would get you a v2 version, because Mescius wants its customers to get the most out of their license.
  • If you purchased a 2022v2 license, your license would have access to 2022v2, and 2023v1.

When you use your license for a Wijmo version that it does not support, you will receive a nag screen telling you that your license version is not compatible.

This image example shows a popup for a 2022v2 license trying to utilize a 5.20241.9 Wijmo version.

To remove this popup, install a version of Wijmo your license supports, or upgrade your license to the latest version.

  • Ensure that your distribution key is correct in the setLicense() method
  • A 2022v1 license will have access to any Wijmo version that includes 5.2022...
