Background:
When generating a Wijmo Distribution Key for your license, the key must reference a unique set of domains. If you attempt to create a new key that contains exactly the same domains as an existing key, the system will detect it as a duplicate and block generation.
Steps to Complete:
- Identify existing keys and their domains
Review your previously generated distribution keys and note the domains included in each. - Compare the domain sets
Check whether the domains you're adding match an existing key's domains exactly. If you truly need the same domains, reuse the existing key instead of creating a new one. - Generate the key
After ensuring the domain set is unique, generate the new distribution key.
Getting Started:
Example scenario
- Existing key domains: localhost, example1.com, example2.com
- Attempted new key: localhost, example1.com, example2.com → will not generate (duplicate)
- Fix options:
- Add a new domain (e.g., staging.example1.com) or
- Remove a domain you don't need in this key
Once the domain set is different from the original, the distribution key will generate successfully.
Tips
- Keep a simple inventory (spreadsheet or note) of keys and their domains to avoid conflicts later.
- Use descriptive domain groupings (e.g., a “staging” key vs. a “production” key) so future keys remain distinct.
