I started programming as a C# programmer. I have experience developing WinForms applications. I’ve always wanted to learn WPF but never actually did it. Quite recently I got a small project for a local gym to develop an application for them. Nothing too heavy. Just to store membership data and to create and print workout cards.
The gym manager is a friend of mine so he said I can take as much as time I want. So I was thinking doing it in WPF just so it would be a learning exercise for me as well.
My question is, is WPF kind of dead since Windows 8 and the whole metro UI came out? Is it worth investing my time to learn it? Is WPF still being used as a technology to develop applications or am I too late for the party?
