I am having trouble upgrading an old dot net framework Windows forms app from Spread.NET V16 to V19. My process is to: (1) close all tabs in Visual Studio, (2) open the project properties and remove all farpoint and grapecity references, (3) add a new form to the project and add a Spread.NET V19 to the form. This adds all the required V19 references to the project.

For some reason when I try to post my request, I get the following message “Sorry, new users can only put 2 links in a post.”

I have included the rest of my post in the attached text file.

    Hello David,

Regarding the forum post issue related to the maximum number of links allowed, we have resolved the issue, and you should no longer encounter any problems.

Regarding your issue with Spread.NET V19, we were unable to reproduce this behavior on our end. We have attached a video of the behavior observed on our end for your reference. Please try the following troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the issue on your side:

    1. Perform a clean rebuild of your application: delete the obj, bin, and .vs folders from the application directory, and then build the project again.
    2. Try adding references through NuGet packages, with the default NuGet package management format set to PackageReference. It is recommended to add packages through NuGet as it automatically handles internal dependencies for you.
    3. Try performing the same steps in a completely new project to see if the issue is specific to your old project.

To help us investigate this further, could you please share the following:

    1. The .designer.vb (or .designer.cs) file where the error occurs.
    2. A video recording showing the behavior on your end.
    3. The exact version of your existing application’s .NET target framework and the previous Spread.NET version.

    Best regards,

    Vivek Singh

Step 2. downloading the Spread through NuGet package manager worked.

I had originally downloaded the Spread software from the download link on the Mescius ‘My Licences’ page. This time I removed all the farpoint and grape city references from the project then downloaded the NuGet GrapeCity.Spread.WinForms. Now the program runs!

    Thank you.
