Hey guys,
I’m pretty sure that I’m supposed to be linking something else with my application, but I cannot figure out what it is.
When I launch the SpreadDesigner .Net 3.5 from my application, everything works fine, unless I select something like background fill color. I get an error like the one I have attached to this issue.
What should I be adding to my application?

Hello,
There seems to be a problem with proper installation of the product.
Hence, I request you to please uninstall the entire Spread Studio and then do a fresh installation on your machine using administrator rights.
Then try running your application and let us know if you still facing issue.
If yes, then please let us know your machine configuration and architecture and also let us know which exact version are you using?
And also are you facing the same issue in a fresh application as well?
Please let us know.

I uninstalled previous trial versions, and then uninstalled the current version.
I then re-installed the current version, and I still get the resources error dialog when I try to select a background color in the spread designer.
I have attached a screenshot of the “About” dialog to indicate the exact version.

Do I also need to install Spread Java Libraries? I unchecked that option during install… maybe I shouldn’t have?

That didn’t fix it… I did a modify of the install, and I add the Java stuff. That didn’t help.
I have attached what is installed.

Unfortunately, we are unable to replicate the issue at our end with the given information.
We created a sample application and open Spread Designer on click of a button and then set the backcolor and it worked well.
We request you to send across a sample application and send it back so that we can investigate the issue further.

That’s strange.
I create a new project, put a spread control on the form, click on designer, then click on fill color button. Designer then crashes.
I have attached an image, but it just shows what I have said before.
If you could give me an idea of what “farpoint.win.ribbon.descriptionJ.resources” is, maybe I could track it down.
By the way, if I try to run the standalone FarPoint.SpreadDesigner.exe, I also get the same error message.

Thanks! I just installed Spread Studio 8 to a brand-new Win7 virtual machine, and got the same results.

Your issue has been fixed with Spread Studio 9. You can download the latest build of Spread which is Spread Studio 9 with build version 9.0.20153.0 from the following link:-

Unfortunately, Spread Designer support only English, Chinese and Korean.
