Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the error snapshot.
The file FPdotLicense.dat was used by the old license code, before GC software activation licensing was implemented. All version releases since 2009 - starting from Spread ASP.NET 5 and Spread WinForms 6 - have used the newer license code, and only very old releases of Spread used that older license code.
We kindly request you provide the following details for further investigation of the issue:
- Spread.NET exact version installed on your machine.
- FarPoint exact control version used in your project application.
- Target framework of your project application.
- Visual Studio version.
Thanks & regards,
Aastha -

Product Version 1.0.0.0
FarPoint.Win.Input.dll
Since we have new laptop, I don’t have Spread.net installed on my machine. Old developer was working on this project.
How can I install Spread.Net ?
We are trying to build the project using visual studio 2017, it is an old project that was built with older versions.
Target Framework that is on the project is 3.5 , we want to change it to higher version -

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for sharing the requested information.
Product version 1.0.0.0 is very old and completely out-of-support now. Due to its obsolete nature, we do not have its installer available.
We recommend creating a new application using the latest version, Spread.NET V18. You can download it here: https://developer.mescius.com/spreadnet/download
Installation guide: https://developer.mescius.com/spreadnet/docs/latest/online-win/overview/PowerTools_Help19/spwin-product-install
Since you were using a very old version, you will need to re-implement your features with the latest API. We always suggest our customers to update their controls timely, to avoid such issues.

System requirements for V18: https://developer.mescius.com/spreadnet/docs/latest/online-win/overview/PowerTools_Help19/spwin-product-install/product_reqs20
For best results, please use Visual Studio 2022.
