    Hi,

One of our customers is using sensitivity labels for every Excel files that are to be consumed by the library. We process the Excel files using the library and send the files back to customers. Will the sensitivity labels be kept after saving?

    Hi,

Could you please provide a sample Excel file with the sensitivity label set? We are unable to add a sensitivity label on our end due to organizational policy restrictions. If the data is confidential, we request you to create a new support ticket on our private support portal and share the Excel file there.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

    Kartik

    Hi,

Please refer attachment for sample files.

[Book1.xlsx] is the workbook with sensitivity label set and [Book1_1.xlsx] is the book saved using the library which does not contain the sensitivity label.

    Regards

    Book1.zip

    Hi,

The development team has investigated and confirmed that DsExcel currently does not support retaining sensitivity labels. However, they have provided a workaround:

According to How to - Republishing scenario, you can use the Microsoft Information Protection SDK to preserve sensitivity labels. A sample implementation is available in the “Add logic to edit and republish a protected file” section. When using DsExcel, replace the comment block “Your own application code to edit the decrypted file belongs here” with the relevant DsExcel code.

Unfortunately, we could not provide a sample project directly, as the sensitivity feature is not enabled at our organizational level. Could you please test it on your end and let us know if it meets your requirements?

    Best Regards,

    Kartik

    Hi,

Thank you for the information. Yes, we’ll consider the workaround if we really need this feature.
