    Hi C1,

we are researching C1Pdf capabilities to create PDF files for the german billing format “ZUGFeRD”.

Here, the pdf file contains an invisible attachment with the actual bill content in xml format.

Attached is an official sample file:

    zugferd_2p1_EN16931_Einfach.zip

The XML content can be found here in Acrobat Reader:

It seems C1Pdf “AddAttachment” method (https://developer.mescius.com/componentone/docs/win/online-pdf/attachments.html) cannot create this kind of invisible attachment? All overloads require a rectangle parameter.

Bonus question: is C1Pdf part of the “ComponentOne WinForms” license?

    Best regards

    Wolfgang

C1Pdf will probably not work at all for our requirement, as we would like to use template files where we would add billing data.

    So forget about my question.

    Best regards

    Wolfgang

    Hello Wolfgang,

We apologize for the inconvenience, but adding XMP metadata or invisible attachments like ZUGFeRD is not supported using C1Pdf.

You can check out our other product for this requirement: Document Solutions for PDF.

    Documentation: https://developer.mescius.com/document-solutions/dot-net-pdf-api/docs/online/overview.html

    DS Sample Browser: https://developer.mescius.com/document-solutions/dot-net-pdf-api/demos/quick-start

Also, please find the attached sample for adding invisible attachments. (see TestPdf.zip)

Please note that for adding invisible attachments, we just added the attachments in the PDf and did not add the string related to the attachment name. Please let us know if you have different requirement

is C1Pdf part of the “ComponentOne WinForms” license?

Yes, C1Pdf is included with ComponentOne WinForms license. (see https://developer.mescius.com/componentone/winforms-ui-controls#:~:text=Explore%20All%20WinForms%20Controls)

You can go through the documentation of the “Document Solutions for PDF” product to see if it meets all your requirements or not. Also, you can create support tickets if you have any doubts or queries regarding your requirements.

    Regards,

    Uttkarsh.

    Hi Uttkarsh,

thanks for the feedback. Well, we will probably buy the product of a competitor instead of “Document Solutions”, sorry.

    Best regards
