My organization purchased a Standard Developer License. Now developers are building the project through Visual Studio. The task is to build via Jenkins; for this, a build server has already been deployed on Linux. Projects that do not use Component One are simply built with the docker build command. Can I use a developer license on a Linux server to build a project that uses ComponentOne?

    Hello,

FYI, Standard Developer License comes with the following limitations:

    1. You may activate your key on 3 machines only, i.e., a Standard Developer License comes with 3 activations.

So, you must deactivate the key before destroying the machine to avoid losing an activation.
    2. You may only activate and deactivate a single key up to 9 times per day.

Now, there are two scenarios for building the projects:

    1. Setting up a dedicated physical machine: You can activate your Standard Developer License in this scenario as there is no need to activate/deactivate the license again and again. Also, there is no need to destroy the machine, so activation will not be lost.
    2. Setting up a temporary machine: The temporary machines used for building the projects are destroyed afterwards. So, the key must be deactivated every time to avoid losing the activation, and also, in a day, you can repeat the cycle of activation/deactivation up to 9 times only.

To overcome these scenarios, you can go for the pipeline license. Please refer to the following for more information: https://developer.mescius.com/componentone/docs/license/online-license/licensing-apps-on-docker-with-pipeline.html
