What's New in SpreadJS v16.1
Pittsburgh, PA – May 03rd, 2023 GrapeCity, a global provider of award-winning enterprise software development tools, is pleased to announce the SpreadJS v16.1 maintenance software release. The highlights of SpreadJS v16.1 include new features and enhancements to existing functionality, like updated framework support, improvements to charts, PivotTables, and more. These features expand developers' capabilities within their JavaScript applications when building high-performance enterprise spreadsheets. SpreadJS v16.1 is now available as an upgrade for existing customers and a download for new customers on the GrapeCity website.
SpreadJS v16.1 includes updated JavaScript framework support. With Next.js, developers have access to all the features necessary for production, including hybrid static and server rendering, TypeScript support, smart bundling, route pre-fetching, and more. Nuxt is a Vue-based open-source framework that helps with web development and is now supported for use with SpreadJS in this release. SpreadJS v16.1 now supports the latest Angular 15 release with the Angular wrapper. Read the release announcement to learn more about SpreadJS's new JavaScript framework support.
In SpreadJS v16.1, the team has added gauge charts. This new combo chart lets users create a gauge or speedometer. Additionally, column and bar charts have been enhanced with an invertIfNegative option. This new feature allows users to format positive and negative values differently, allowing for a more precise visual distinction. The option can be enabled on a specific series in a chart, and SpreadJS will automatically invert the data. Visit the website to get started with SpreadJS's new chart improvements.
The SpreadJS team has enhanced PivotTable support by adding a subtotal option for single fields. Previously, SpreadJS would change the subtotal position to be at the bottom of each field. Now it's possible to change the place for individual areas. The "Use GetPivotData functions for PivotTable references" option has been added to the workbook formulas and can be enabled or disabled. This option lets users reference PivotTable cells even if the layout of the data changes. Explore other updates to PivotTables in the release article.
"We are pleased to launch SpreadJS v16.1 for our customers," said Product Manager Kevin Ashley. "This latest release has many new features and enhancements to existing functionality that JavaScript developers can leverage for their enterprise applications."
