GrapeCity Developer Solutions Releases GrapeCity Documents v4
Pittsburgh, PA – December 16th, 2020 GrapeCity, a global provider of award-winning enterprise software development tools, is pleased to announce the v4 release for the GrapeCity Documents API product line. The latest version includes enhancements for GrapeCity Documents for PDF (GcPdf) and PDF Viewer (GcPdfViewer), GrapeCity Documents for Word (GcWord), GrapeCity Documents for Imaging (GcImaging), and GrapeCity Documents for Excel (GcExcel). This release focused on features that automate standard document processes across industries and applications.
In v4 of GrapeCity Documents for PDF, users will find support for extracting table data from PDF documents through the GetTable(…) method. This new feature is helpful in scenarios that require extracting table data from many PDFs into a different format for analysis. While office suites like Microsoft Office and OpenOffice have this functionality, they cannot pull data from PDFs in an organized fashion. With this new tool, developers can create applications that automate scanning PDF documents with different table data but similar layouts. To learn more about this new feature and many more updates to GrapeCity Documents for PDF Viewer, visit the release blog.
Successful online forms need specific features to operate efficiently, especially for automation purposes, but few contain the common fields that are part of the standard PDF specification. In GrapeCity Documents for Excel, a template provides a new syntax defining HTML5 input types and validation settings on the PDF form fields. After processing the Excel template, the results are exported to a PDF file. With this feature, .NET and Java developers will add PDF form fields not part of the standard PDF specifications. Although various organizations utilize complex reporting, many use Microsoft Word as the file of choice and have to recreate complex reports from scratch each time. By incorporating GrapeCity Documents for Word v4 into their organization and establishing a templated approach to reporting, developers can use the GcWord API to bind data to a template and create dynamic, complex, and flexible Word reports in the .docx format. GcWord also supports Word mail-merge templates to make the automation of reporting requirements even simpler. With these updates, end-users can generate many different legal reports, employee contracts, and house lease agreements, to name a few.
