Is there support for “Data Validation” cells (cells with lists) and / or cells with checkboxes when it is defined in the xlsx file?

I want to load a file containing these definitions for the cells and for wijmo to display it and allow interaction with those cells.

    Hi,

Currently, FlexSheet does not support form control imports or “Data Validation” cells.

However, we have created the request to add these functionalities with internal tracking id 340741 & 340742. It may be implemented in the future release if found feasible.

We will let you know for any updates on this.

Thank you for the response. The company I work for considers purchasing a licence of wijmo FlexSheet and this is a very important feature for us.

Will it be possible for you to add support for this feature?

    Hi,

We have requested the development team to look into the features. We will update you as we get an update on this.

So I don’t understand, I thought that Wijmo FlexSheet is the new iteration of SpreadJS.

What is the difference between the two?

We use AngularJS and Angular for our projects. Does SpreadJS have support for both of them?

Is there good documentation for this product?

    Hi,

    We are sorry indeed.

We have another product named SpreadJS which provides most of the Excel features. Your requirement for data validation can be fulfilled with the current Spread release.

    Regarding, checkbox import feature,

The request has been created for the development team and it has been logged in the Product Backlog.

Further, SpreadJS provides more excel like features than FlexSheet. Please refer to the following links for spreadJs:

    Hello,

Spread.Sheets( SpreadJS) is a client side control. All the functionalities for SpreadJS are performed on the client side. And yes, there are a lot of differences between Spread.Sheets and FlexSheet. Spread.Sheets being an old product have more features as compared to FlexSheet.

Please have a look at attached pdf document stating differences between both. But, since it is quite an old document hence a few changes have not been incorporated yet. Please feel free to ask in case of any discrepancy.

But overall, this document still hold true. We have added some new features to SpreadJS Sheets since then though. For example we now support 450+ formulas, instead of the current listed 300+.

Further SpreadJS have support for both Angular and AngularJS. You may go through these documentation links for the same:-

    http://help.grapecity.com/spread/SpreadSheets11/webframe.html#angular2.html

    http://help.grapecity.com/spread/SpreadSheets11/webframe.html#angular.html

Here we have some blogs links as well for SpreadJs and Angular here:-

    https://www.grapecity.com/en/blogs/create-angular-spreadsheets-with-angular-cli

    https://www.grapecity.com/en/blogs/spreadjs-and-angular-data-binding

Please go through these links mentioned above and let us know if you face any issues.

We will try to answer your queries accordingly.

    Thanks,

    Thank you for the explanation.

The most important thing I need to know is whether Spread.JS is here to stay? Can I count on it?

If I am going to incorporate it in our product I need to know it will have support in the coming years. The only reason I chose Wijmo over Spread.JS is beacause it seemed like Wijmo FlexSheet is the new version of Spread.JS.

    Hello,

FlexSheet and SpreadJS are two completely different products that focus on different needs. FlexSheet provides very basic Excel spreadsheet functionality and is good for those just needing a similar feel with minimum Excel supported functionality

SpreadJS is the complete JavaScript spreadsheet package with full Excel look/feel functionality and compatibility. We encourage you to check out this Web Designer sample to get a better feel of its capabilities:-https://www.grapecity.com/en/demos/spread/JS/WebDesigner/content/index.html

Further, SpreadJS and Wijmo FlexSheet are both here to stay.

For more inquiry on SpreadJS please post your issues here:-

    Hope it clarifies.

    Thanks,
