    [activereports_archive]Hello,

Yesterday I installed the newest version of Active Reports 7 in trial (evaluation) mode.

Unfortunately after only one day of testing I’m getting “License Error (01-005) - License cannot be confirmed” while opening reports in designer in Visual Studio 2010.

How to resolve this annoying issue?[/activereports_archive]

Apologies for the inconvenience. We are looking into it right now. In the mean time, will email a trial key that you can use to activate the product.

[activereports_archive]I have the same problem as djacobs.

I installed AR7 yesterday on top of ActiveReports 6, and its was the first time I was installing the version 7.

However I don’t have the trial version, we actually bought the software.

    Thanks !

    EDIT : I use Visual Studio 2008.

In the Licence Manager, I see the serial number I received when I bought AR7 and it says it’s activated (standard edition).

[activereports_archive]Just to point out, I also installed AR7 over AR6.[/activereports_archive]

  • Posted 14 September 2017, 6:14 pm EST

[activereports_archive]Are you running the standalone viewer exe?

Will it be possible to check the licenses.licx file in the project and make sure correct entries are there?

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.Viewer, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.v7

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.SectionReport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.v7

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.PageReport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.v7

ActiveReports 6 and ActiveReports 7 can be installed side by side. However, it is recommended that they are not used in the same project. Please see the Side-by-Side installation topic for more information.

Will it be possible to provide some more detail on how that project was created?  If the viewer control was dropped from the VS toolbox then all the appropriate entries should be there to begin with.  Was the viewer instance created manually?

Am trying to understand as to how and why you encountered this behavior.  It will help us document this better and trouble shoot issues like these if other customers encounter something similar.

    Thanks

    [activereports_archive]Raji,

The viewer instance was created manually through code. I did not use the toolbox for that control.[/activereports_archive]

[activereports_archive]I also have the same problem as djacobs.

I’ve installed active reports 7 yesterday with the Trial mode. But today i realized that active reports didn’t work anymore.

Can you please send me a test key.

Can you please download the latest build from here? http://www.componentone.com/SuperProducts/ActiveReports/

This is build 7.0.5280.0 where the trial license issue was resolved.

[activereports_archive]I downloaded the trial version from the link above… and got an error saying I’m using a trial version and I can’t open a viewer without purchasing an upgrade… We don’t want to purchase an upgrade until we know it can work.

We have purchased AR6, but need to add the Data Matrix to a report. I am trying a standalone upgrade of the one report in a new project.

Can I just not use the viewer to view my upgraded reports with a trial or…?

Any help would be much appreciated  thanks[/activereports_archive]

    [activereports_archive]superservo15,

Can you please try adding a licenses.licx file to your project with the following entries and then rebuild you application.

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.Viewer, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Viewer.Win.v7

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.PageReport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.v7

Please let me know if this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Abhishek

[activereports_archive]I checked the licenses.licx file. It only contained:

    GrapeCity.ActiveReports.SectionReport, GrapeCity.ActiveReports.v7

I had to add the other two manually for it to work. But, I did get it to work. Thanks![/activereports_archive]

    [activereports_archive]Mapafis and Alex,

Is there any chance that you initially installed a build prior to 7.0.5280.0 and later upgraded to the latest build? Can you please send me an E-Mail at supportone@componentone.com so that I can send you a new trial key? Also provide the information which I have requested for in this post.

    Regards,

    Sankalp

[activereports_archive]Hello, I am having similar issues as these posters have had. I am running version 7.0.6158.0 . I have added the proper entries in the license file as suggested, deleted and built a new license file, cleaned and rebuilt the project several times, and anything else that has been suggested. My goal is to print a report, no need to view this report or have a print preview, just need to send it straight to a printer. I have tried doing this without a viewer on the form and it will only print a blank page. I have tried all of the print methods within the ActiveReports namespace to no avail. I thought that maybe having a viewer call its print method would fix the problem, but upon adding this to my form the license error pops up at runtime. Please give me any information to help solve this issue. Thanks.[/activereports_archive]

    Hello,

This error occurs when the license info between the file system and the registry is different. Have you changed anything related to OS setting?

However, I have requested for a new Trial key from the sales team and will inform you once I get any reply from them.

You will also contact them directly at “us.sales@grapecity.com” or 18008582739(9AM - 5PM EST)

    Thanks.

No I haven’t changed anything, I just restarted my system and when I started Active Report Designer it started showing the error, Before restarting it was working fine.
