In this exercise, we log in as an end user and use the shared schedule template that we created in the Administrator Dashboard to schedule a report in the Report Portal. We will also learn how to look at the report creation history.
Select a report
Log into the Report Portal as joe, a member of the Sales department. In the left pane, under the Quick Start category, click Sales Reports, Joe's personal user category. Select the Sales Person Performance Report, and in the report information pane to the right, click the Schedules tab.
Note: To set a schedule, the current user must belong to a role that has the necessary permissions. Joe's role is Sales, and that role was already configured to have scheduling permissions. For more information, please see Creating Roles.
Add a schedule
In the Schedule tab of the report information pane, click the Add task button to add a new schedule. A schedule named Schedule 1 is added.
Schedule settings
Change the name of Schedule 1 to Weekly Sales Performance and change the other values as follows, then click Save.

As Attachment
The schedule settings are now complete. As we specified in the Schedule Template Setup, the report runs every Sunday at 12:00, and the email address specified above will receive an email like the following.
Note: In this exercise, we generated the report and sent it as an attachment, but you can also schedule a report to save in a specific network drive or email a link to a file stored on the server.
View the history
You can check the schedule execution history in the report information pane to the right on the History tab. The History tab appears like the following, once there are listings in the history (this image is of a report with a daily schedule). Also, so long as the Result Expires After time has not expired, you can click the Open button to view the executed report for that time.
Note: Although the entire history is kept, the length of time executed report results can be opened is dictated by the Result Expires After time that we set in the Administrator Portal on the shared schedule. For more information, see Schedule Template Setup. In this exercise, you can view the report if it was run within the last 14 days.
