    Hi all,

Thanks for all the attention and time you spend answering these requests. I’ve been trying for a few days and have not been able to create row groups that display like a regular FlexGrid group. In the Row Groups demo, grouping is displayed in two columns. I would like to display it across all the columns in a single row.

    Is this possible?

Thanks so much in advance for your assistance.

    All the best,

    Rick

    Hi Rick,

We are unable to understand your exact requirements. As per our understanding, you want grouping in transposed grid but want to display the grouping similar to FlexGrid grouping, if so, it might not be possible to implement same type of grouping in TransposedGrid as in FlexGrid as the internal structure in both type of grids is different.

We request you to please provide us some more information about your requirement, any screenshot of the desired layout or something that could make us clear about the requirement. We would be able to help you better when we have a better understanding of your requirements

    Thanks, and regards

    Hi,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

This first screenshot utilizes multiple columns to group rows of data. With multiple levels in the hierarchy, the grouping columns will soon take over the whole screen (horizontally). For example, I could have a financial statement where I want to break down revenue and expenses into finer and finer categories (e.g. by Office → Department → Expense type(s) → Individual → amount. As these groupers would all be strings (and possibly lengthy) little space would be left on the screen, without scrolling, to input information.

What would be really helpful is if I could display those groups above the data, therefore I could have many levels of nesting without sacrificing space for data input (imagine 12 columns of data entry, one per month). Grouping in FlexGrid supports that. This image is from the FlexGrid grouping demo.

If there is any way to do this, I would be most grateful!.

    Thanks again.

    All the best,

    Rick

    Hi Rick,

Thank you for the detailed information, we understand your requirement now, but the transposed Grid does not support the kind of grouping FlexGrid supports, as the underlying architecture of both grids are different. So, it would not be possible to achieve the structure you require with transposedGrid, we would suggest you use either Flexgrid or Multirow if that could fit your requirements -

    Demo for flexgrid: https://developer.mescius.com/wijmo/demos/Grid/Grouping/Groups/react

    Demo for multirow: https://developer.mescius.com/wijmo/demos/Grid/MultiRow/Grouping/react

In case you need further assistance do let us know.

    Thanks, and regards
