    Hi,

Can the standard ide or a custom one, be configured to work directly with an Excel or CSV or other text file, without requiring an rdo or ado object?

    Hello,

New versions of AR are application to bind the report directly with CSV files. I suggest you to upgrade to the latest version so the achieve your requirement.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Mohit,

But I recently purchased Active Reports 2. I’ll purchase the .net version soon, but I’m not doing that immediately after the first report writer.

So I think the answer is no, the legacy AR 2 depends solely on database components, and can’t be coaxed into stepping through spreadsheets, csv, or tab-delimited files.

I do have a fairly recent copy of ReportEase. The default version works with csv files, with a little coding. I’ll use that, for the time being.

    Hello,

In AR2, you can’t directly bind the CSV with report.

I recently purchased Active Reports 2.

From whom you have purchased AR2 now. It is a legacy product now. It is out of maintenance mode now. Hence, we do not provide support for the same or no bug fixing will be done in the same. I would recommend you use the latest version of ActiveReports i.e ActiveReports 15. Please refer to the following link for more information:

    Thanks,
