[activereports_archive]It is possible to add metadata to pdf files exported with AR 10? We need to add some metadata in order to create invoices consistent with ZUGFeRD specification (http://www.ferd-net.de/front_content.php?idcat=255&lang=4). Part 7.3 describes PDF/A extension schema, which should be added to pdf metadata. This standard is widely accepted in Germany and becomes increasingly popular in other European countries

DevExpess provides such functionality as one of the pdf export options: https://www.devexpress.com/Support/Center/Example/Details/T234531[/activereports_archive]

    [activereports_archive]Hello,

To add Metedata into PDF file while exporting, you can use “PdfDocumentOptions Class” of PDF Export. Refer to the following documentation link for more information on the same:

    http://arhelp.grapecity.com/webhelp/AR10/index.html#GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Export.Pdf.v10~GrapeCity.ActiveReports.Export.Pdf.Section.PdfDocumentOptions.html

    [activereports_archive]Hello Reema,

PdfDocumentOptions class allows setting only a limited list of predefined PDF/A XMP properties. This set of properties can be extended with special XMP schemas as described in PDF/A standard (https://www.pdfa.org/download/technical-note-xmp-extension-schemas-in-pdfa-1/). ZUGFeRD specification uses this mechanism to add new fields with its own extension schema. So, I need to add this extension schema and new fields to PDF metadata. Is it possible to add other metadata than defined in PdfDocumentOptions Class?[/activereports_archive]

[activereports_archive]Hello, are there any updates on this question? It is almost three month since I’ve opened it. The issue is becoming critical for us, since we have a release in about one month. Is there any way to escalate the question? Would it make any difference if I submit a support ticket?[/activereports_archive]

[activereports_archive]This feature would be addressed in the AR11 SP2 release which will be around end of June, 2017. Chances of adding this earlier are slim but we’ll inform you whenever this is implemented.[/activereports_archive]

Hello, are there any updates on our issue? Will adding metadata to pdf files be implemented at all?

  • Posted 17 December 2024, 6:54 am EST

    Hello,

I’m also working on a ZUGFeRD report and it needs to have metadata for PDF attachment specified.

    For now, the

    AttachmentInfo
has Name, Content and Description fields. ZUGFeRD requires also to fill in the Modification Date and Relationship.

Is that something being worked on?

    Hi Michał,

Our development team will be adding ModificationDate, Relationship, MIMEType, and CreationDate fields to the AttachmentInfo class as an enhancement. It will be available in ActiveReports v19.0 (ETA: February 16, 2025 tentatively) and ActiveReports v18.3 (ETA unavailable).
