  Hello,

  Our company is using active report js in our web application . After we’ve deployed the application to amazon linux , our tester said they didn’t see active report working . And this task is assigned to me and it’s my first time experiencing this ,since I’m not a developer. My question is " Do we have to activate the license key in amazon linux ? If yes , how can we do this ? If not , what might be the error ? "

  Hi Edith,

  ActiveReportsJS works on the client-side environment (HTML, CSS, JS) therefore it does not have any direct correlation with respect to licensing on Windows or Linux environment.

  However, as you are deploying your application to a Server having a unique domain you do need to make sure you have at least a Single Domain License.
  
  After which you’ll need to generate a distribution key for your domain, to learn about generating a distribution key please refer to Generating Distribution Keys.
  
  Then in your application you need to specify your generated license/distribution key using the ‘Core.setLicenseKey(“DISTRIBUTION KEY GOES HERE”)’ method. You can learn more about the same here: Licensing your application.

  If the issue persists please try sharing any error messages related to ActiveReportsJS that you receive so we can look further into the same and assist you accordingly.

  Hello Anand,

  Thank you for your support. One distribution key is valid for one hostname ? For example, we create distribution key for www.testing-abc.com and we use it for www.testing-def.com , then the license key will be invalid for www.testing-def.com . Is that right ?

  Hi Edith,

  Yes, the URLs ‘testing-abc.com’ and ‘testing-def.com’ will be considered different URLs for this you’ll need to purchase an Unlimited Domain License.
  
  However, with a Single Domain License you can create unlimited SubDomains of a single root domain so if your URL looks like ‘testing.abc.com’ then you can license both ‘testing.abc.com’ and ‘abc.com’ with the same Single Domain License.
