A New Dawn of Web Development for ComponentOne

I could not be happier to announce our latest release of Studio Enterprise. I am proud to say it includes a completely new Web Stack for any flavor of Web development. As you know we have recently created a whole new framework for pure client-side development called Wijmo. We wrote it to be a core technology for ComponentOne based on the latest standards like HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery. Today we are extending the Wijmo framework into ASP.NET WebForms and MVC3! Our goal is to have a single core technology that can be used in any platform. The Wijmo code base means you can write a Web application in WebForms, easily migrate your knowledge to MVC and even start developing in pure JavaScript. We love the technology and have tried to make the ultimate UI tools for the Web.

Introducing MVC Tools

We believe that the best UI practices in MVC are simply rendered markup enhanced with jQuery UI. Our MVC Scaffolding automates that entire process. The Wijmo MVC Scaffolding generates rich interactive Views and Controllers for your entire Model. We also provide a Project Template that is already enhanced with jQuery UI and Wijmo. This studio will help you rapidly develop MVC applications with interfaces richer than WebForms.

30 jQuery UI Widgets

Wijmo is a complete kit of over 30 UI widgets with everything from interactive menus to rich charts. If you know jQuery, you know Wijmo. Every widget is hand-crafted and includes premium themes.

Interactive HTML5 Charts

Superior charts powered by inline Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). Technology new to most browsers, SVG is a powerful means of creating vector drawings in the browser. Vector drawings can be scaled to any size without losing any quality. They also have a very small XML format. That makes SVG perfect for creating data visualizations for the Web. We have done all the hard work to make using SVG effortless.

High-performance jQuery Grid

This tabular datagrid allows users to interactively select, edit, sort, scroll through, filter, and group data. It’s highly customizable and can be used to better understand and visualize data more effectively.

Theming

MVC Tools includes 6 premium CSS3 themes, 24 jQuery UI themes, and Themeroller - a custom theme builder.

Wijmo MVC 3 Project Template

We provide a Project Template that is already enhanced with jQuery UI and Wijmo, helping you to rapidly develop MVC applications with interfaces richer than WebForms.

For instance, any DateTime field will be rendered as a Date Input with a pop-up Calendar. These editors make for a much richer experience than just plain TextBoxes.

Introducing Studio for ASP.NET Wijmo

We have taken our ASP.NET suite and rewritten it based on our new Wijmo client-side framework. You will see outstanding improvements in performance, a new easy-to-use theming infrastructure, and cool new controls like SVG Charts! This studio offers the best controls for ASP.NET in the market powered by HTML5 and jQuery.

30 New Ajax Extenders

We have create Control Extenders for each of our UI tools. If you liked the AJAX Control Toolkit, you will love using the Extenders we include in this studio. We offer both Controls and Extenders that share the same Object Model to make it easy for you to transition between server-side and AJAX development.

Theming

Note: The previous product Studio for ASP.NET AJAX will no longer be supported as of July 20th 2012. We are committed to supporting our products, but must move forward with innovation.
