What's New in GrapeCity Documents v5.1

Pittsburgh, PA – April 29th, 2022 GrapeCity, a global provider of award-winning enterprise software development tools, is pleased to announce the GrapeCity Documents v5.1 release. The latest version of GrapeCity Documents includes enhancements to the existing APIs. Developers will find additions to digital signature support and updates to layers (optional content groups) support in GrapeCity Documents for PDF, improvements to GrapeCity Documents for Excel report templates, saving documents to SVG in GrapeCity Documents for Imaging, and much more. The GrapeCity Documents API supports features that have no dependency on Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Word.

Signing PDF documents with electronic signatures compliant with PAdES B-LT (signature with a long-term validation material) and B-LTA (signature providing long-term availability and integrity of validation material) levels are available in GrapeCity Documents for PDF v5.1. There are two new classes to implement support for LTV (long-term validation). These classes allow the developer to add verification information for electronic signatures and establish the exact contents of the complete PDF file at the time indicated in the timestamp token. Read the release announcement to learn more about the additional updates for GrapeCity Documents for PDF.

With the new v5.1 release, GrapeCity Documents for Excel has made enhancements to the GcExcel Report Templates that cover more scenarios and Excel features. Additionally, report generation from templates will be much faster. Developers can also bind report templates directly with a JSON data source using the JsonDataSource class. Visit the website to learn more about the new features in GrapeCity Documents for Excel.

In a previous release, the GrapeCity Documents team introduced a new class to create, load, inspect, modify, and save the internal structure of an SVG image. With the v5.1 release, it is now possible to use all common graphics operations to draw on an instance of the new GcSvgGraphics class, which can then be converted to a GcSvgDocument and saved as an SVG or SVGZ image. Compared to raster image formats such as JPEG and PNG, SVG is a vector format that can be rendered at any size without losing quality. This format gives designers and developers much control over the image appearance. Read the release article to learn more about saving documents to SVG.

"GrapeCity Documents v5.1 is here! The release offers feature-rich, faster, and efficient Document APIs and viewer components, additionally providing multiplied value when combined," said Product Manager Shilpa Sharma.
