The first release of 2021 delivers several enhancements that improve the product experience for developers, report authors, and end-users. ActiveReportsJS v2.1 upgrades JavaScript developers' design toolkit for intuitive and dynamic reports.
The newly introduced Rich Text Report Item allows developers to display static or dynamic mixed-format text in reports. Currently, the only supported language that can be used for content is HTML. This new item can create mail-merge reports, labels or display pre-formatted content from a data source. ActiveReportsJS v2.1 delivers several significant enhancements to the standalone report designers and the end-user designer components. The end-user designer component no longer depends on bootstrap styles and will not cause conflict with an application's CSS. The brand-new Expression Syntax makes it easy to read and write dynamic report content. With the updated Tablix Wizard, JavaScript developers can instantly create advanced pivot table reports. With the revised Report Author Guide, report designers can quickly learn fundamental product concepts using the tutorials. The ActiveReportsJS team has also improved the report item and property descriptions with more detail than previous versions. By starting with the Standalone Report Designer tutorial, developers can better understand the report author's primary tool.
