What's New in ActiveReportsJS v3.1

In this maintenance release, users will discover new features and enhancements that improve the product experience for developers, report authors, and application end-users. ActiveReportsJS v3.1 upgrades JavaScript developers' design toolkit for intuitive and dynamic reports. 

As part of the v3.1 release, ActiveReportsJS now processes data in the background thread using Web Workers technology. Processing data in the background means the page in the browser does not freeze when a report is bound to a large dataset. Data processing could be a heavy task when using an extensive data set because it involves reading, parsing, and transforming operations. It significantly improves the user experience. In the v3.1 release, the ActiveReportsJS team introduced a brand-new Layers Editor UI that allows developers to create and manage report layers. This feature is helpful in situations where a report author needs to vary the report output based on the target device – viewer, export, or printed document. The ActiveReportsJS v3.1 software update also supports the double underline style in text decoration. The Tablix data region allows setting the order of content sections' appearance when the content grows in both horizontal and vertical directions. Fixed page layout enables JavaScript developers to set the page size and orientation for each page individually.
