Spread provides the ability to embed the deep-functionality of Excel into your applications. Whether you are developing Client applications or Web applications, the mission of Spread is to consistently provide developers with rich, built-in capabilities to bring solutions to reality.
Spread.NET 6 is the combination of Spread for Windows Forms and Spread for ASP.NET provided as a single, multi-platform product offering. Following the release of Spread.NET 6, Spread for Windows Forms and Spread for ASP.NET will no longer be offered as separate products. Through the product maintenance cycle, and future product versions of Spread.NET you will see the Windows Forms and ASP.NET controls become more common and consistent.

New Windows Forms Features:

  • Sparklines - Support for Excel Sparklines (line, bar, win-loss) is provided in the Spread runtime and design time - including Excel import/export. Sparklines help bring meaning and context to values displayed in your applications, and unlike charts they are meant to be embedded into what they are describing.

  • Camera - Support for the Excel Camera tool is provided in the Spread runtime and design time - including Excel import/export. The Camera tool allows you to select a range of cells and project a live image of that cell range onto any sheet in Spread. All changes made to the original range of cells will be automatically updated in the Camera projection image.

    Use the Spread.NET Camera feature to capture and project live images to other sheets.

  • Excel import/export performance improvements:

    • Speed improvements of 20% - 30% for most Excel documents.
    • Memory usage improvements of 20% - 30% for most Excel documents.

New ASP.NET Features:

  • FireFox 4 - Support for Mozilla FireFox 4 Web Browser.
  • Internet Explorer 9 - Enhanced browser support for IE 9 and IE 10.
