This set of release notes includes enhancements from the previous release, resolved issues and version details.

Enhancements from the Previous Release

This version of the product has the following enhancements from the previous release:

• Spread for Winforms now supports .NET 6 platform. You can check out its product requirements, how to add Nuget packages in a .NET 6 project, and how to migrate from .NET Framework.

• Users can add enhanced sparklines as visual functions in the spreadsheet. There are 17 different sparkline types to choose from, and you can add them through the Spread Designer as well.

• Column, line, and winloss sparklines can now be set using formula functions as well.

• Users can hide sparkline group indicators by using the SparklineGroupRenderer property.

• The camera shape is enhanced to inherit and use all the features of the Enhanced Shape Engine.

• Spread for Winforms provides the enhanced border option to paint borders the same as in Excel.

• New keyboard shortcuts are added for Excel compatibility.

• Extend table rows or columns automatically using the AutoExpandTable property.

• Automatically fill a column with the entered formula in the table by using the AutoCreateCalculatedColumns property.

• Spread for Winforms allows you to insert cells, cut or copied cell ranges in a spreadsheet using the context menu.

• The new LAMBDA Function is introduced to enable users to create new custom functions using custom names and formulas.

• Seven new LAMBDA helper functions are added to help create advanced LAMBDA functions - BYCOL, BYROW, ISOMMITED, MAKEARRAY, MAP, REDUCE, and SCAN.

• Users can now protect and unprotect worksheets in Spread Designer.

• Bind tables to a data source using the new ITable and ITableColumn interfaces.

• Display negative data label values and value axis labels of a chart in red color using the LabelNegativeRed property. ExcelIO supports using Excel format codes for displaying negative red labels.

• Add rich text in cells and use formatting options such as fonts, text styles, colors, superscripts, and subscripts. ExcelIO supports rich text by setting the FpSpread.Features.RichText property to True.

• Create open and closed custom shapes using annotation mode options such as the Freeform shape and Freeform scribble.

• Spread for Winforms supports adding comments to cells in a worksheet, powered by the new Enhanced Shape Engine.

• The conditional format dialog has been improved and now supports the Duplicate Rule button and resizing the dialog.

• Retain the suffix and prefix whitespace characters of the formula expression by using the ReserveFormulaWhiteSpaces enumeration.

• The textbox height in the Name Manager dialog can now be resized.

• Users can now directly assign the image paths in cell values when working with Image Cell Type.

• New shape and image-related cursor type options are added to set the cursor or pointer to appear differently for different parts of the spreadsheet.

• New VSTO-like APIs are added in IRange and IWorksheet interfaces. Refer to the full list here.

Resolved Issues

The following issues have been resolved since the last release.

• The memory issue when printing a sheet is resolved.

• When printing PDF, the borders of row-spanned cells do not extrude to the page header.

• Spread works correctly in design time when using .NET 5.

• Formulas evaluate successfully in imported worksheets.

• Selection style of sheet is rendered correctly when using SelectionStyles.SelectionColors.

• Value of the cell is correct when ResetValue is called.

• Using the GetOwnerPrintColumnPageBreaks method multiple times does not throw argument exceptions.

• Viewport scroll works correctly when removing and subsequently adding rows to a sheet based on another sheet.

• Performance issue involving processes is resolved.

• Custom format for thousand separator is displayed correctly.

• Formula starting with a negative sign is retained if the sheet is removed from Spread.

• PageBreak settings of all rows are set correctly during XML import.

• Hidden column cannot be resized by end-user when ResizeIndicator is not visible.

• Sheet tab height is displayed correctly when applying the Office2013 theme.

• Header font is updated correctly when changed using DefaultStyle of ColumnHeader.

• Paper size is consistent while performing the print operation.

• Excel file exported to Spread displays correctly when subsequently exported to PDF.

• Drag Fill's context menu is scaled correctly with a high DPI setting.

• Spread for Winforms now works correctly for Finland regional settings.

• Combo box cells display correctly after upgrading Spread version in project.

• Parent row values are retained after creating hierarchical view.

• The calculation performance is resolved when using drag fill.

• The location of the picture is retained when using print and print preview.

• Custom skin for Spread is applied correctly.

• Values are formatted correctly when using de-DE (German) locale.
