PROB

This function returns the probability that values in a range are between two limits.

Syntax

PROB(array, probs, [lower], [upper])

Arguments

This function has these arguments:

Description

array

[Required] Array of numeric values, which has corresponding probs

probs

[Required] Probabilities associated with the numeric values in array

lower

[Optional] Lower limit on the numeric value for which you want a probability

upper

[Optional] Upper limit on the numeric value for which you want a probability; if omitted, returns the probability of result equal to lower limit

Remarks

If the upper argument is not provided, the function uses the value for the lower argument only, and returns the probability that the values are equal to the lower argument.

Examples

PROB({B1:B6},{E1:E6},10,100)

PROB({B2,B4,B5,B7},{0.4,0.25,0.1,.025),10,100)

PROB({R1C2:R6C2},{R1C5:R6C5},1,50)

PROB({0,1,2,3},{0.2,0.3,0.1,0.4},2) gives the result 0.1
