LEN

This function returns the length of, the number of characters in, a text string.

Syntax

LEN(value)

Arguments

[Required] The argument is the text whose length you want to find. Spaces count as characters. The argument must be a string or a cell reference to a string value.

Examples

LEFT(A2,LEN(A2)-1)

LEN(""FarPoint Technologies, NC"") gives the result 25
