DELTA

This function identifies whether two values are equal. Returns 1 if they are equal; returns 0 otherwise.

Syntax

DELTA(value1, [value2])

Arguments

This function has these arguments:

Argument	Description
value1	[Required] First numeric value to compare
value2	[Optional] Second numeric value to compare. If omitted, defaults to 0

Remarks

Also called the Kronecker Delta function. This is a discrete version of the Dirac delta function.

Examples

DELTA(A1,5)

DELTA(R1C4,R2C5)

DELTA(3,3) gives the result 1

DELTA(3,2) gives the result 0

DELTA(3,2.99999) gives the result 0

DELTA(3,QUOTIENT(6,2)) gives the result 1
