Trial Version and Licensing

The SpreadJS evaluation version displays a watermark at the lower-right corner. For example:

SpreadJS License

Use the following steps to license the SpreadJS file:

1. Extract the downloaded SpreadJS.Release.xx.xx.x.zip file.

2. Add a reference to the SpreadJS license you received while purchasing the product. Add the reference before the workbook is initialized.

   For example:

Note: If you do not have a trial or production license, SpreadJS can only be used on the local machine (for example: http(s)://localhost or http(s)://127.0.0.1).

SpreadJS also supports various JavaScript Frameworks. Use SpreadJS in the application and add a valid SpreadJS license key before initializing the component, if available.

Designer License

SpreadJS Designer is a stand-alone desktop application and is available for 30 days as a trial without a license key.

Select the lock button and enter a valid license key to activate the SpreadJS Designer before the trial ends.

License for Add-on Features

You can choose to purchase the SpreadJS license along with the add-on features. The following table describes the product behavior in both cases:

Note: If the Pivot Table, GanttSheet, ReportSheet, or Designer Ribbon Component script is added and used locally without a key, a watermark will be displayed. If you use the script in your application, it must have the SpreadJS production license key activated for that feature.

Upgrade to Latest Version

Upgrading to the latest version of the SpreadJS ensures that you have access to the latest features and enhancements. When you upgrade your SpreadJS from an older version to the latest version, you need to take the following actions:

• Replace License Key: Get the new license key for the latest version of SpreadJS and update the LicenseKey string in your application.

• Update References: Ensure that all references in your system point to the new script files associated with the latest version.

Note: SpreadJS is backward compatible, so your previous configurations and data will continue to work seamlessly even after the upgrade.
