This function returns the sum-of-years’ digits depreciation of an asset for a specified period.
SYD(cost, salvage, life, period)
This function has these arguments:
Argument | Description |

cost | [Required] Initial cost of the asset |
salvage | [Required] Value at the end of the depreciation |
life | [Required] Number of periods over which the asset is being depreciated |
period | [Required] Period for depreciation; must use the same units as the life argument. |
This function calculates the digits depreciation as follows:

SYD(B1,1000,10,1)
SYD(R1C2,1000,10,1)
SYD(100000,10000,5,2) gives the result 24,000
