Indicators or technical indicators are mathematical calculations or a series of data points, that are based on a trading instrument's historic and current price and the volume activity. These data points are derived by applying formulas to price of financial instruments. Indicators aim to forecast financial market direction and form a basis for trading decisions.

MVC Edition supports technical indicators for its financial chart control, to be easily used in financial applications. These financial indicators are plotted as chart patterns and form a basis for technical analysis. Note that the indicators are generally plotted separately from original price or volume data, as Y axis scales for technical indicators differ from that of price or volume chart data.
