# IMPOWER

This function returns a complex number raised to a power.

## Syntax

IMPOWER(*complexnum*,*powernum*)

## Arguments

This function has these arguments:

| **Argument** | **Description** |
| -------- | ----------- |
| *complexnum* | Complex number to raise to a power |
| *powernum* | Power to which to raise the complex number |

The power (*powernum* argument) can be an integer, negative, or fractional.

## Remarks

An error is returned if complexnum is not in the form "x+yi" or "x+yj" or if powernum is non-numeric.
