# CONCATENATE

This function combines multiple text strings or numbers into one text string.

## Syntax

`CONCATENATE(text1, [text2], ...)`

## Arguments

The function provides the following arguments:

| Argument | Description |
| -------- | ----------- |
| *text1* | [Required] The first item to join. The item can be a text value, number, or cell reference. |
| *text2, ...* | [Optional] Additional text items to join. You can have up to 255 items. |

## Examples

`CONCATENATE(B4,D5)`
`CONCATENATE(R4C2,R5C4)`
`CONCATENATE("Gold", "Medal")` gives the result Gold Medal
