# Add a Chart Legend

## Content



To add a chart **Legend** to the 3D Chart, complete the following steps:

1.  Select the **C1Chart3D** control and click on the ![](https://cdn.mescius.io/document-site-files/images/46396fd1-914e-43da-9cb0-e66dcc0ae61b/imagesext/image10_3.png)open button to open the **C1Chart3D** toolbar if it is not already open.
2.  Select the drop-down arrow from the **C1Chart3D** toolbar drop-down menu and choose the **Legend** item.<br />

	> **Note**: For the Legend to appear, you must have contours and lines in your chart since the legend shows contours and lines.
    
    The **Legend** element appears to the right of the chart area or to the east of the chart area. This is the default position for the chart Legend element.
